King Charles III of the United Kingdom and 14 other Commonwealth nations, who is actively receiving treatment for cancer, surprised a royal family fan on her birthday. This became known from the official Instagram account of the royal family, where a corresponding video was posted.
The video shows a woman on a walk who meets the king. Charles shook her hand, wished her a happy birthday, and even had a brief chat with his fan. The woman clearly didn’t expect such a surprise.
The king gave Alice Rice the “surprise of her life” when she encountered him at Dumfries House last week on her 87th birthday, according to the note under the video.
The king’s press office stated that during a visit to the estate, which is open to the public, Alice unexpectedly met His Majesty, who was happy to share this special day with her.
The king was in Ayrshire to support the work of the Royal Foundation, whose headquarters are located at Dumfries House, the royal press office added.
It should be noted that Dumfries House is a Palladian-style country house in Ayrshire. The estate is known as one of the few houses of its kind where much of the original 18th-century furniture is still preserved. Charles acquired it in 2007. The estate is not the residence of the king and queen but hosts various events and welcomes tourists and royal family fans.
