Kate Middleton, Prince William, and their children are spending the last days of summer away from London, closer to nature. The family has retreated to the Scottish royal residence of Balmoral, where they are enjoying a carefree break before resuming their royal duties in the fall.
Earlier, they had visited their estate, Anmer Hall, in Norfolk. There, they indulged in a visit to the village beach in Thornham.
After working up an appetite in the sea air, the royal family, including George, Charlotte, and Louis, treated themselves to fish and chips from a local fast food restaurant. A regular patron of the establishment, who witnessed the historic event, shared an enthusiastic comment. He believes that the restaurant truly deserves visits from high-profile guests, though he did not dare to photograph the famous diners.
Fish and chips is an iconic dish in the UK, and other royal figures have also expressed their fondness for it.
“Freshly prepared fish with chips, wrapped in paper. That smell. Nothing beats real fish and chips,” Queen Camilla told YOU magazine.
Even Queen Elizabeth II, known for her commitment to healthy eating, didn’t shy away from fried fish and chips from local takeaways. Although she didn’t go there personally, she would send a servant to get takeout.
Princess Diana once even baffled her chef by declaring that dinner wasn’t necessary because she was taking the children to a famous fast food restaurant. No one dared to argue with her.
