It seems that Bennifer is beyond repair. After numerous online discussions about Jennifer Lopez’s personal life and her potential divorce from actor Ben Affleck, it has been confirmed that Lopez has indeed filed for divorce. Previously, Lux reported on why Lopez and Affleck are divorcing, despite not seizing their second chance at happiness.
According to foreign media, Lopez chose the date for filing her petition with the Los Angeles County Superior Court purposefully—she did it on Tuesday, August 20, exactly two years after their lavish wedding ceremony. Jennifer filed the petition herself, without a lawyer.
In the petition, she listed the date of separation as April 26, 2024. Interestingly, Lopez did not specify whether she and the actor had a prenuptial agreement, but sources informed TMZ that they do not. She also waived spousal support and requested that the judge deny Affleck any spousal support.
Had the couple had a prenuptial agreement, it would have meant that any earnings or profits made by Ben and Jen during their nearly two years of marriage would be considered community property. For instance, since their marriage, Ben has starred in several films and produced one. As for J-Lo, during their marriage, she also had film roles and concerts.
By the way, J-Lo had planned a grand tour this year, which she canceled. Initially, it was reported that ticket sales were poor, but then Lopez stated that she wanted to spend time with her family amidst the divorce rumors.
