Christina Applegate, star of the series “Dead to Me,” who is struggling with an incurable disease and has lost her zest for life, confessed that she once went under the knife due to a comment made by a producer about her appearance. The actress revealed that it was a well-known individual who had produced many famous films and TV shows.
In the latest episode of her podcast, Applegate admitted that she underwent plastic surgery after a prominent producer commented on her looks.
“I was on a show, and one of the producers— a very famous person who also created a very famous show— said, ‘Hey, we have a problem with the lighting under your eyes. You have such big bags under your eyes,'” the 52-year-old Applegate shared.
The producer also suggested, “I recommend you have them removed.” Applegate explained that the bags under her eyes were hereditary, joking that her father had “Louis Vuitton bags” under his eyes. However, after the producer’s comment, she felt pressured and went to see a surgeon.
“At 27, I had the only plastic surgery I ever did to remove the bags under my eyes,” the actress revealed.
Christina also added that the producer made her feel ashamed and planted seeds of doubt about her appearance.
It’s worth noting that in 2021, Christina Applegate was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She has had to use a cane and has expressed feeling ashamed about it in her podcast.
