A family from Mali has become well-known after welcoming nine new members into their family during the summer.The young mother, Halima Cisse, will shortly depart the hospital with her babies.
The babies have flourished despite their early birth, putting on weight and strength while receiving medical attention. Halima says she is excited to take her babies home with her and that she loves watching them become stronger every day.
Four of the babies—five girls and four boys—were conceived naturally.
But Halima gave birth sooner than anticipated owing to health issues, and the babies were born weighing between 11 and 1 pound.
The babies have grown well and are now ready for discharge, having matured normally under medical monitoring despite initially needing care in incubators.
