The cherished ensemble of the legendary TV series Cheers came together for a touching reunion at the 2023 Emmy Awards in January 2024. Ted Danson, George Wendt, John Ratzenberger, Rhea Perlman, and Kelsey Grammer gathered around a set that looked like the well-known bar from the show.

Ted Danson, who gained notoriety for playing Sam Malone, was praised for his soothing demeanor while working on the Cheers set. In addition to his long-lasting marriage to Mary Steenburgen in 1995, Danson pursued major roles in television shows like “CSI” and “The Good Place” and important motion pictures like “Three Men and a Baby” after his popularity on the program.

The actress who played Diane Chambers, Shelley Long, gained notoriety from Cheers and went on to do other television projects, such as playing Carol Brady in Brady Bunch films and appearing in series like “Modern Family.” Even after her first marriage ended, Long, who had a daughter named Juliana, never stopped captivating audiences with her skill.

Remembered affectionately as Carla Tortelli, Rhea Perlman said that Cheers was a big part of her career and that she won several Emmys for the role. In addition, Perlman pursued a variety of acting roles in television and movies, including one in the 2023 Barbie film. Perlman has been married to Danny DeVito since 1982.

Beyond Cheers, John Ratzenberger—best known for playing the witty mailman Cliff Calvin—accomplished other roles, most notably providing voice acting for cherished Pixar movies. Since 2012, Ratzenberger and Julie Blichfeldt have been blissfully married. George Wendt, who became well-known for playing the endearing Norm Peterson, was nominated for several Emmy Awards after rising from a small part in the Cheers pilot to a cherished regular character. In addition, Wendt broadened his professional horizons by making cameos in several films, television series, and Broadway productions. He has been married to Bernadette Birkett since 1978.

The Cheers spinoff “Frasier,” starring Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Frasier Crane, was a huge hit and won several Emmys. Despite going through several marriages and facing personal struggles, Grammer is still doing well in his career.

Bebe Neuwirth, who won an Emmy for her portrayal of Dr. Lilith Sternin, went on to pursue acting in TV series such as “Madam Secretary” and even returned to Cheers for its resurrection.
The actor most recognized for playing Woody Boyd, Woody Harrelson, made a splash in the fourth season of Cheers and won an Emmy for it. Subsequently, Harrelson embarked on a prosperous cinematic career, garnering several Oscar nominations, and is exploring projects in London.

Kirstie Alley won an Emmy in 1991 and received critical praise after appearing as Rebecca Howe in Cheers’ sixth season. Throughout her career, Alley appeared in both television and movies, including “Look Who’s Talking” and “Veronica’s Closet.”

During the episode, Woody Harrelson’s character had to fill the vacuum left by the tragic death of Nicholas Colasanto, also known as “Coach” Ernie Pantusso.
