an orphaned baby rhino cuddles with its caregiver

So far, Kabelo the orphaned rhinoceros and his caregiver Laura have been together for two years. He still plays with her caretaker and trusts her completely.

Laura Ellison discovered her passion for rhinos when she worked at the Taronga Western Plains Zoo.

From then on, he decided to keep doing it. After moving to South Africa and becoming a veterinary nurse at the Rhino Orphanage, her job is to take care of the rhinos in the orphanage.

The Rhino Orphanage is a non-profit association based in the province of Limpopo and was founded by Arrie van Deventer in 2012. The orphanage aims to cure baby rhinos and then release them into the wild.

When the orphaned rhino was sent to the orphanage, Laura was put in charge of caring for it. She called him Kabelo. Kabelo lost his mother to illegal animal hunting when he was very young.

It was Laura who dedicated very special care to the poor animal. She was always by her side during the first five days of her stay in the orphanage. She deeply understands Kabelo’s loneliness. Kabelo seems to feel his love for him, she trusts his human friend.

Day after day, the bond between them grows much stronger.

Laura finally realized that she had a mission not only to care for rhinos, but also to raise her voice to protect rhinos and animals from illegal hunting.

Every animal on this planet, whether domestic or wild, deserves love and protection. Will you raise your voice to protect them from pain and loss?
